Layton's Heavenly Escape

As I try to make sense of the events that have happened, I find myself trying to put Layton's short little life into a small, tiny package.... one that I can go to when I want to re-live the few memories I have. This website has helped in a small way to put his life in one place, placing everything we knew and felt about him into one location. I have realized since creating this site, that this is not the only place where I can see or feel him. He is in the crib I cannot take down. He is in the diaper that he last wore that remains the same as it did when I found it two days after his death.. I can smell him when I walk in his room.. when I pick up the sleeper he last wore. I remember him in the dreams I have.. the ones I don't want to wake up from.Most importantly, I can see him every time I look at his Daddy's face.To my little boy that I miss so much.. this site is for you.

October 14,2006...3 year anniversary**

Aaron( Layton's older brother) has written a new version of the death of his little brother. Aaron is 17 now and the magnitude of this writing still astounds me. It will do the same for you. Click on his pic below.

Paul Hardy, Jr.has safely returned from Afghanistan. My intention was to remove the lit candle when he returned home.I have since decided to keep it lit in honor of the soldiers still serving our country overseas and for the two American soldiers who were so brutally murdered as they risked and ultimately lost their lives representing the United States of America.
God bless all of our troops-Your dedicated service to this country does not go unnoticed!
